Esther visits the Dutch farm where she, as a Jewish girl during World War I, was hidden from the Nazis. She experienced something dreadful there. Esther wants to find out what finally happened to the people who helped her and the others in hiding.

Esther's parents were murdered in Auschwitz. That's all she knows.

But then via Internet, her teenage grandson Daniel tracks down an old neighborhood friend Bob. He was with her parents in Auschwitz and was the last person to see her father alive.

She is deeply shocked by his story.

Esther tells her friend Helena that she has always missed her parents terribly. What's more, she can barely recall their faces.

But then Helena remembers something...
