Greeting card inspired by a woodblock design by artist Ilya Schor (1904-1961). Originally created for Abraham Joshua Heschel’s The Earth is the Lord’s, this stylised tree design is rich with spiritual symbolism and artistic detail.

The tree, a central motif, is surrounded by intricate imagery: blooming roses evoke God’s love in the world, while birds represent hope and renewal. A fawn nestled among the branches speaks to the cyclical nature of life.

Hidden within the tree are Hebrew letters with profound meaning—Aleph, the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet and of Adonai (God’s name), symbolises the mystery and transcendence of the Divine. Its counterpart, Samech, alludes to Ein Sof, the infinite light of God, reinforcing the sacred, eternal presence infused in creation.

Blank inside.

Cello wrapped with white envelope.
