in 1999 Rosemary was elected to the Council of The Jewish Genealogical Society of Great Britain and chairs the Society's Education Committee. As well as being the Editor of the three new Guides in the Jewish Ancestor series, she is one of the Authors of the Beginner's Guide to Jewish Genealogy in Great Britain which was the first in the series published by the Society. In addition, She is a member of the Shemot editorial team and has written various articles for the Journal.
Rosemary is also a non-active member of the East of London FHS.
Her main interest is in Anglo-Jewish/Dutch genealogy as most of her family came from England and she has been lucky enough, with the help of other researchers, to trace her family back in this country.
Both Rosemary and her husband, Derek are on the Board of Management of St. Albans United Synagogue, Rosemary is Secretary for Marriages and edited the Synagogue newsletter for 8 years.
Her hobbies include flower arranging, gardening, photography, caravanning and of course genealogy.
She hopes this book will encourage readers to gather as much data as possible so that in years to come their family history will be well documented. It is important to recognise that certain documents and photographs may relate to one another and will therefore provide an overall picture of a sequence of events as indicated by the illustration on the front cover.
