A Gentleman’s Journey – Ellis Jacobs

Along a journey spanning three continents, Ellis Jacobs has witnessed the world change and evolve over his 98 years. Beginning his life in the vibrant International settlement of Shanghai, China, as a proud member of the Iraqi Jewish community, Ellis went on to serve in the Israeli army following the establishment of the Jewish State in 1948.

Woven into his historical tale, Ellis shares his powerful and enduring love story which led him to Sydney, Australia, to reunite with his one and only love. With his darling by his side through 66 years of marriage, Ellis established his career, nurtured a loving family and made significant contributions to the Sephardi and broader Jewish community.

A gentle man in the true sense of the word, Ellis draws upon his dynamic life and strong values of personal connection, respect, family and contribution, to teach us life’s most important lessons.
